Where to Buy Bones for Bone Marrow?

If you’re looking to make rich, roasted bone marrow at home, beef marrow bones are exactly what you need—and we’ve got them! We offer beef marrow bones in two styles:

  • Regular Cut
  • Canoe Cut (split lengthwise for easy roasting and scooping)

Regular-cut marrow bones are cross-sections of the leg bone, sliced into thick, round pieces. The marrow is enclosed inside the bone, so it takes a bit of scooping after roasting. These are great for traditional broths and roasting when you want to extract marrow slowly and preserve a more rustic presentation.

Regular-cut marrow bones are best for:

  • Broth and stock making
  • Slow roasting with a spoon-and-scoop experience
  • Serving in soups or stews

Canoe-cut bones are split lengthwise to expose the marrow completely. This cut allows for even roasting and easier access to all that delicious, buttery marrow. It also makes for a more elegant presentation—great for appetizers or as a steak-topper.

Canoe-cut bones are best for:

  • Roasting and spreading marrow (recipe linked below!)
  • Fancy plating or dinner parties
  • Getting maximum surface area and flavor

They’re just $3/lb, making them an affordable way to bring gourmet flavors into your kitchen.

These marrow bones are perfect for making Butter of the Gods—a decadent, umami-packed spread that’s amazing on toast, vegetables, or melted over a hot steak. If you’ve never tried roasting marrow bones before, we’re happy to walk you through it or share a favorite recipe.
