Why Grass-Fed Wagyu?

While most Wagyu is grain-finished, this special line is grass-fed, offering a more natural, leaner beef with exceptional flavor complexity. It’s an ideal pick for those who value sustainability, local sourcing, and top-tier taste.

What Exactly is Wagyu beef?

Wagyu is a Japanese cattle breed known for its incredible marbling, tenderness, and buttery flavor. American Wagyu is a cross between Japanese Wagyu and American breeds, offering the best of both worlds. Our purebred American Wagyu is raised in neearvy Kalkaska, subsisting on pasture, hay and corn sileage.

Is Grass-fed Wagyu Healthier?

Yes. Grass-fed beef tends to be leaner and contains higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Our grass-fed Wagyu combines health benefits with intense flavor.

Where is Your Wagyu Beef Raised?

Nearby in Kalkaska, Michigan. We work with a trusted local farm that raises a small herd of purebred American Wagyu with care and respect. The beef is available to purchase only at our Farm Store in Traverse City.

Can I Reserve Cuts in Advance?

Due to the limited quantity, all cuts will be first come, first served in-store starting at 11AM on June 13. We recommend arriving early!

Is This the Same as Japanese A5 Wagyu?

No, but it’s the closest you’ll get without importing from Japan. American Wagyu has excellent marbling and flavor, with the added benefit of being locally raised and grass-fed.

Don’t miss your chance to bring home the best Wagyu beef Traverse City has to offer. Whether you’re planning a special dinner or just want to show Dad some love with something truly exceptional, our grass-fed Wagyu is the ultimate gift.
